Grand Opening Week

2024-10-08T20:01:09-04:00

These are the students God brought us, and we couldn't be more grateful for each and every one of them! Last week, students and families celebrated our grand opening and inaugural year with a series of activities and daily events: On Monday, students were part of a scavenger hunt which ended by revealing each student's "house saint."  Our house model will provide a small community within the school community providing opportunities for multi age collaborations, and maintaining a small school feel as we grow, along with team building and a little healthy competition. This year we introduced two of our houses, St. Theodora and St. Nektarios. On Tuesday, [...]

Students Enjoy the Beauty of the North Shore

2024-09-23T14:56:51-04:00

Located on the North Shore of Boston, The Academy is surrounded by incredible beauty. With access to the beaches, farms, trails, and rivers of the Trustees of Reservation, Audubon and Greenbelt properties, students have opportunities to learn within the created world. This week our Middle School students traveled to Crane Beach, where they ventured through the dune trails collecting and classifying specimens as part of their life science class. With the guidance of their teacher, Mr. Joyce, students learned about biomes, classification and slowing down to truly enjoy nature as it points us toward God.

School Blessing

2024-09-23T14:54:02-04:00

This morning we celebrated Saint George Classical Academy's opening with a school blessing service. Students, family members, staff, and volunteers joined together in prayer and dedication as we asked for God's continual guidance and blessings. We then processed through the classrooms singing the troparion of our school patron saint, the Great Martyr and Trophy Bearer George: As deliverer of captives and defender of the poor, healer of the infirm, champion of kings, victorious Great Martyr George, intercede with Christ our God for our souls' salvation.

The First Days of School!

2024-09-23T14:57:49-04:00

Wednesday, we welcomed students in kindergarten through 8th grade and today our Early Learners joined us for their first day. Students prayed together, sang songs, discussed ancient mythology, dusted off their math skills, worked on their writing, determined the height of a tree by measuring its shadow, shared an outdoor lunch, explored the school grounds, collected bouquets of wildflowers, read the Life of Saint George, and celebrated the first day of school with cake and parachute games. We are blessed by God's grace and look forward to all that is to come!

New Door, New Floor, Books Galore… And Summer Events!

2024-07-02T17:53:09-04:00

Dear Friends, The school continues to take shape. This week our dear friend Rick fixed the front door, our friend Liz laid the floor in our Early Learning (pre-K) space and Juliana’s teacher friends from her time as a principal in Hamilton-Wenham came to organize the classroom library. Many more have been organizing and cleaning! We are incredibly blessed by the beautiful books we have acquired, and we continue to collect art books and field guides. Glory to God for all things! It’s Happening! (Paint and Furniture, Oh My!)

2024-06-22T16:36:33-04:00

Last week we received an incredible donation of school furniture and books. With the help of volunteers, we were able to move everything into our new space in Boxford, and on Monday we started painting. Over the next two weeks, we will continue preparing classrooms in order to be able to tour families and friends by the middle of July. It is miraculous how the school has been blessed each step of this journey.
