Fostering Leadership

Saint George Classical Academy seeks to educate virtuous leaders capable of influencing communities, resolving conflicts, and communicating a compelling vision for the future. The liberal art of rhetoric is aimed toward facilitating decision making in community and with that in mind, SGCA emphasizes public speaking as well as the soft skills required for life, including manners, etiquette, and decorum. Attention and form are stressed so that students develop the sophistication necessary to navigate the varied social contexts they will encounter in life with grace and poise. While not everyone within a community will be a leader in the traditional sense of the word, it is important that each person feel a sense of responsibility for the health of their community and be aware of how their actions influence the culture they inhabit.
